LOTS - Director of Transit

The Lee-Ogle Transportation System (LOTS) is looking for a dynamic leader to direct all aspects of its public transportation system. The Director will be responsible for the system financially, including budgets, grant applications, additional funding and reimbursements. Must be able to efficiently complete all documents and requisitions to the Illinois Department of Transportation, the Lee County Board, Ogle County Board, system providers and LOTS Advisory Board. Will have supervisory responsibility over the Transit Providers, dispatchers and the Assistant Director.

Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Transportation, Business Administration or equivalent, Master’s Degree preferred. Must have excellent communications and writing skills, and must be comfortable speaking in public. Must be proficient in general computer operating systems and possess a valid State of Illinois driver’s license. This position is full-time with a competitive wage/benefit package. Flexible hours. Performs a variety of administrative tasks involving answering administrative phones, typing, filing, data entry, processing mail and accounts payable, maintaining office supplies, operating general office equipment and other general clerical duties. Interacts with area responders, departmental staff and the general public. Must possess tremendous organization skills and be able to work independently.
