How do I make a child support payment?

If your payments are not made through income withholding, you must send your payments to:

Information Needed

The Illinois State Disbursement Unit (SDU) accepts checks and money orders. Please make sure your check or money order is payable to the Illinois State Disbursement Unit. Make sure to include the following information with your payments: 

  • The name of the county in Illinois where the order was entered
  • Your FIPS/docket number (case number)
  • Your name
  • Your social security number
  • The amount of the payment
  • The name of the custodial parent

Remember, if you have more than one FIPS/docket each payment must be listed separately.
