Employment Requirements

Applicants for any professional probation-related position in the Lee County Probation Department must meet the following minimum qualifications:

  • Possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, preferably with major course work in Criminal Justice, Psychology, Sociology, Social work, or related Social Sciences.
  • Be a United States citizen
  • Possess a valid driver's license
  • Satisfy a police background check
  • Met the requirements of the Administrative Office of Illinois Courts and placed on the hiring list
  • To be placed on the hiring list:

                  Go to www.state.il.us/court

                  Go to the "documents" tab and select "Applications/Forms"

                  Click on "Probation/Court Services Employment/Promotion Application"

The form can be completed on-line or printed off and completed manually. There are also instructions on completing the form on the website.
